Do you have any tips on making psx textures?

(+1)

Hi! There's no magic! Just downscaling them (in some cases using closest neighbour method). The rest of techniques I'd like to keep a trade secret!

(+1)

I love your style and am working with your assets, it can be hard to match the psx theme though when I make new assets so thank you!

Thank you even more! I'd love to play it when it comes out!

Hi! I've published the step by step video guides that include a video of me preparing a texture and making a PSX style 3d object for it. The video guides are paid, because it cuts down on the sales of my assets to show people how exactly I'm making my stuff :)

I think primary reason people buy assets is that it saves a ton of time. Even if your methods were public, most people would still prefer assets because all the work is already done and is ready for usage.

I think value in having access to the way you build stuff is twofold:

  1. For people wanting to expand on your assets for their specific project and continue it’s development
  2. For people learning and exploring different ways to achieve PSX aesthetic

I fall in between these two categories, so to me your new package showing how you create your stuff is no brainer, but I’m just posting this to say that there’s no need to be defensive about this stuff, since audiences don’t overlap too much! Anyways, I appreciate the work you do so much :)

Hi! I don't know how much useful that stuff can be, just quite a few people over the time asked me to show how I make my assets and stuff, you guys know better! I guess that kind of stuff is more for the beginners, or I might be wrong, I don't know, haha!

I make them using a primitive image editing tool, it's called "Paint.net". :)

(+1)

Oh I love Paint.NET! It's really cool that you're able to make such great textures with it!

(+1)

It is an amazing tool, been using it for 10+ years :D It works like a mini photoshop and paint application blended together

(+1)

Ever since I switched to Linux I've been missing it lol

(+1)

I've been considering Linux for a good few years now, it's sad that paint.net isn't available, I found this out just now!

Loving the aesthetics of these.

Hi there! Thank you Slow Seer! I'd love to play a game one day that would be made with these. I hope it's soon!

Hey pizza. add hole in ceiling width lader pls

(+1)

Hi Kodrin! Something like some sort of vertical tunnel with a ladder going through it, right? :)

yes pls. Like:

Looks really cool! I'll add something like that, thank you!

This looks great. I wanted to ask you how different is this from the other mega pack?

Hi there! >95% of the meshes are a variety of modular interior pieces and objects that are unique to this asset pack. Some small bits, such as pipes, are from the PSX Mega Pack, as an extra ( because they work very well for this theme ). It is also made to be combinable with the PSX Mega Pack, so even more interesting interior worlds could be put together

If you need more details, please let me know! :)

Hey Pizza,

Would you be willing to hand out a bundle as a reward for the 350-participant jam I am hosting, the Panic Horror Jam? DM me on Discord at charleythepostman.

Thanks, this pack looks amazing!

(+1)

Hi there! Absolutely!

Thanks!

I love you pizza :d

Haha! I love you too

This pack is great and working well in Godot! Would love to get a tunnel option which is like a 3 way interseciton as well!!

(+1)

Thank you! I keep forgetting to add it, but I wrote it down this time! :D I'll do my best to release the update in the next 48 hours!

A tunnel part which has a door and a window into a room please

Hi there! Absolutely! Your ideas are appreciated!

(+1)

Hi again! Sadly I won't be able to finish the update this soon, as I'm adding a lot of new stuff to it. It will be worth the wait!

No worries!! Take your time with it! Always happy to wait for even more content!

Thank you! Take care of yourself!

Wow wow wow!

This is amazing

Thank you Kodrin! :)

I cannot pay by card?

You should be able to, PayPal supports payments by card. But if it doesn't seem to allow to pay by card for you, you can pay directly by following the link above! :)

Thank

One more think

My country not in list?

It's a bummer. I would buy these in a minute but there is no debit card option. I only buy through Itch.io to make sure they receive their fee and I can't use Paypal at present.

Hi! I'm sorry, the other payment option itch.io has, really hurts me as a creator. There's a heart icon on my itch.io page, if you like, you can pay by card through there, or if bank transfer is an option to you, you can send me an email. Take care!

Hey sorry to bother.. I went to buy these with paypal and while making the payment my wifi went down. Now it says pending payment in paypal

Hi mrjshzk! Please send me an email, I'll have a look! :)

Payment went back, so I just bought it! Cheers :)

Thank you even more!

Just one word: noice.

(+1)

Thank you! I hope it will spark some cool new ideas!

(+1)

If you keep releasing these packs I'll blow all my money on you!

Haha! I hope you'll keep some money for the living essentials!

Same here :d

Beautiful, could you make this one credit card pay as well? I already own the other sets I purchased this way. My Paypal is flakey. Is this set already included in the MEGA pack?

Hi cleveblakemore! I have changed the payment method to "direct to me", because a big portion of the money was taken away by "collected by itch.io, paid later". This helped me to not loose a big portion of the sales money, but made it inconvenient for people to purchase my assets. Please send me an empty email and I will get this to work to you! :)

Some small bits from PSX Mega Pack are included into this one, such as pipes, but the rest is exlusive to this kit! :)

You can pay for this asset pack by donation & I'll send you a code to claim it :)

I'm sorry but I have to go through Itch.io, they host some of my IP and they can't do it for free.
